In my quest to review things to the best of my ability I often find myself doing a lot of research. When I was given the Mistress Pheromone Infused Lipgloss from Sin Free Toys I knew that it would take me down the path of learning more about pheromones and just what they are all about. So before I get into the actual review about the lipgloss, I thought I would break down pheromones so that it they could be better understood. Because as a Sci-fi geek (and a Whovian to boot) the first thing I think about is the an episode of Torchwood with the Pheromone Crazed Alien.
But of course that is fiction, and pheromones are of course a real life thing as well.
A pheromone (from Greek φέρω phero “to bear” + hormone from Greek ὁρμή – “impetus”) is a secreted or excreted chemical factor that triggers a social response in members of the same species. Pheromones are chemicals capable of acting outside the body of the secreting individual to impact the behavior of the receiving individual. There are alarm pheromones, food trail pheromones, sex pheromones, and many others that affect behavior or physiology.
In this case we are talking about sex pheromones:
Sex pheremones are pheromones released by an organism to attract an individual of the opposite sex, get them to mate with them, or some other function closely related with sexual reproduction.
Now science does generalize it down to attracting the opposite sex for mating, though I was able to find articles in full about how they might react differently to those who are attracted to the same sex.
So now that I have filled your head with all of this, I am sure there are even more questions that you have about them. I know that I did. So allow me to break it down a little further.
Q. How are pheromones detected?
A. Pheromone signals are detected through an organ 3 inches inside the nose called the Vomeronasal Organ (VNO). When the VNO detects pheromones, it sends a sexual response signal to the brain.
Q. What is VNO?
A. VNO Function: Pheromone Communication: The Vomeronasal Organ or VNO is the receptor organ of a sensory system involved in chemical communication. Among mammals, sex Pheromones that advertise sexual readiness to potential mates are often, although not necessarily exclusively, detected by the VNO. Odors that are produced by one individual and detected by another of the same species are called “Pheromones” if the process is a real communication with benefit to both individuals. Sexual communication is only one example.
Q. How do you use pheromones?
A. Pheromones are best applied directly under your nose to maximize the impact on yourVNO function. Those brands that suggest you use a spray or place the fragrance on your pulse points (neck, wrist, behind ears), are in fact doing a disservice to what pheromones are all about. When a spray is used, if there is any true human derived pheromone in the formulation, it is dispersed in the air, with a minimal amount entering the nasal cavity. Three strokes under the nose is all you will need for maximum benefit and the results should last for up to three hours. Using too much may cause tingling in the extremities and light headedness.
Q. Do we give off pheromones naturally?
A. Yes we do, but in our modern society, we wash it off on almost a daily basis. We also don’t retain the pheromone on our skin or hair as we are not coated in fur as our animal mammal cousins are. We do chemically communicate with each other all the time, but the power of human attraction is in sight and how we filter this information in our mind.
Q. If we produce our own pheromones, why do we need the help of a Pheromone Product?
A. Because of our cultural habits. What do we do first thing in the morning? Take a shower. It washes off our pheromones! Consequently, we’re phenomenally deprived. (Furthermore, we tend to dress from head to toe, thereby covering 90% of the very skin that releases pheromones into the air.) When we put on Pheromone Concentrate, we’re actually replacing pheromones we’ve washed off. By supplementing our lost pheromones with Pheromone Concentrate, we’re really “getting back to nature,” and re-establishing chemical communication with people around us.
Q. What are the benefits of using pheromone products?
A. -More eye contacts and smiles from the opposite sex
-You will be found more sexually attractive
-More opportunities for dates and intimacy
-A rejuvenation of your current relationship
-More passionate lovemaking
-The opposite sex will feel more relaxed and at ease with you
-The opposite sex will start up conversation with you
-Increase your self confidence
-Same sex will intuitively respect you
-Better business / employment relationships
Hopefully that was able to break down just what pheromones are and how they are meant to work. I will be following up soon with my review of the Mistress Pheromone Infused Lipgloss from Sin Free Toys, in which I actually did my own experiment in order to really see just how well it worked.
