This review brings you two products in one, mostly because they go very well together but also because they are just far to short to write about on their own! Both are products from Classic Erotica who do all kinds of sensual bath and body products. The Coochy Shave cream and Aftershave Protection Spray are meant to help not only with sensitive skin but to leave it smooth and soft after shaving.
Coochy Shave Cream is made to help with shaving not only your most intimate parts but everything in between, I prefer it on my legs as it helps cut down on razor burn and I get it the worst there. It allows you to get the closest shave possible leaving your skin smooth. The cream is very thick but smooth, allowing the razor to glide along the skin without leaving nicks or razor burn.
I have noticed that it seems some of the other fragrances contain methyl and propyl parabens, but the Oh So Orignal version does not so it is safe for those who have allergies to them.
The ingredients are as followed:
Water, cetyl alcohol, cetrimonium Bromide, stearyl alcohol, hydroxyethylcellulose, glyceryl stearate, PEG-100 stearate, PEG-60 lanolin, simmondsia chinensis seed oil, hydrolyzed keratin, panthenol, allantoin, phenoxyethanol, methylisothiazolinone, sodium hydroxide, fragrance
The cream is honestly thick and creamy, it looks more like a gel when it comes out of the pump. It reminds me almost of hair conditioner because of the thickness after I smoothed it out on my skin. When applied to the area that you wish to shave it stays thick not running or foaming up. Also while it may seem like only a bit comes out of the pump this is one of those where it really spreads out! I really found I only needed one pump per area I was going to shave. Though if you have dry skin I found that it does absorb into your skin rather quickly, though this doesn’t take away from your ability to shave. I was able to run over the areas where it looked like there was nothing and still get the same smoothness.
After using it, it leaves the shaved area feeling soft. Not leaving behind any film or greasy/oily feeling on the skin.
The Oh So Orginal fragrance is very soft, almost like floral baby powder. But it does come in other scents such as Unscented, Citrus, Playful Plumeria, Slick Chic Pear Berry, Naked Silk Green Tea, and Make Me Blush. It all depends on what scents you prefer on your body. Though I find that it doesn’t linger long, especially if you put on an after shave or deodorant afterwards if you are using it to shave your underarms. On the rest of your body it seems to just slowly fade, or doesn’t interfere with the scent of a perfume or body lotion.
The cream is easily applied tot he skin and a bit is able to cover a good amount of skin with out over doing it. After shaving I found that it left me with out a lot of the bumps or slight rashes that others have left on my skin. When paired with the Coochy After Shave spray it left my skin no matter where I was shaving feel soft for days.
My bottle came packaged in a simple plastic bag so that it would not leak on to the product, and of course the pump is covered by a plastic cap. The cap is on there pretty tight so be careful not to squeeze to hard or you could crack it (like I did with mine), though even cracked it stays on tight.
The bottle itself is not too discreet as it says ‘Coochy’ right on the front, but as I keep mine in the bathroom it’s hardly an issue about someone seeing it. The bottle itself is 4 ounces and has a lot of information on what the product is made of and how to properly use it.
Coochy Protection is an after shave spray that you can use not only on of course your more sensitive areas but anywhere you do shave and might experience razor burn. This product is perfect for anyone who shaves, male or female. While it does have a light floral smell it doesn’t last long on the skin.
Intended to use after using one of their shave creams, the spray can be used even if you have used soap and water. It forms a barrier between your skin and the clothing you are wearing, helping to prevent itching and irritation. I also found that its is perfect to use when you may have any other irritation on your skin such as redness or rashes brought on from sweating or other activities.
The liquid itself is somewhat thin with just a slight bit of thickness to it. I know that doesn’t make sense but when you feel it on your skin you can tell that it leaves that barrier but does not feel sticky or tacky. The liquid is mostly clear but does have a slightly cloudy element to it.
When sprayed on your body, it just feels like simple mist. You can either rub it into your skin or leave it to dry. It leaves no aroma or other things behind on your skin once it dries.
The smell is slightly floral to me, much like a very light perfume. It goes away quickly once dried, so if you are not keen on that kind of smell you are not living with it on your skin.
As for taste, I didn’t lick myself after spraying it (nor did I want to) but this is not meant to be tasted by humans. So if you are worried about that, I would suggest making sure its dry afterwards at least a couple of hours before any activities you might get into where someone might be licking you where you have sprayed.
As for how it worked, I used it after shaving with both the coochy shaving cream, soap and water, and with another over the counter shave cream I have. With all three the spray worked just fine, not having any counter reactions to them or what might have been left on the skin.
I found that my skin felt smooth and that it kept me from feeling that normal itch that comes with shaving in more sensitive areas especially those first few hours. For me it was about 10-12 hours of protection or before I took another shower.
One of the things I was really glad that worked, was YES this does spray when you hold the bottle upside down. Which makes it easier to handle for those more hard to reach places!
The packaging is just the bottle itself. It does say Coochy right on the front of it and the bottle is pink. Which does look rather feminine. The back has information about the product, how it works and the ingredient listing on the back.
It certainly isn’t discreet at all. But if you are really worried about people raising and eyebrow the sticker could easily be pulled off. Though I just keep mine where I know people aren’t snooping about.
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Lavendula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glarbal (Licorice) Root Extract, Echinacea Agustoifolia Extract, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Epiloblum Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Lilium Candidum Bulb Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Flower Extract, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Polyquarternium-10, Potassium Sorbstat, Disodium EDTA
Most of the ingredients in the spray are anit-inflammitory or meant to condition the skin, which is what helps it protect the skin of course. However, the one down side is that this does contain glycerin which some people are very sensitive to. This is not a problem I have but if you do, you may want to steer clear of this one.
Over all I am really impressed with the Coochy line from Classic Erotica, they are wonderful for an all over shave. Even better for those who have sensitive skin or those who have to worry about parabens/perfumes/other ingredients. Though with any body products be sure to check out the ingredients above to make sure there is nothing else you might be allergic to inside.
You can find both products that I have reviewed at PinkCherry here, the shave protection comes in just one fragrance but the shave cream you can find not only in the orginal fragrances but also Pear Berry, Citrus, Blush and Plumeria
