Its just carbohydrates.
Just carbon, hydrogen and oxygen.
Melt it down, add some flavoring and color. It becomes a sweet treat. Something to enjoy when your sweet tooth is aching, coming in so many shapes and sizes. Just an innocent treat that you can enjoy with out too much guilt.
Unless your mind wanders elsewhere, making something that was once innocent anything but. Watching someone wrap their lips around the sticky sweetness. Wetting the orb of candy glass to a slick shine as they pull it from their mouth slowly, licking the residue from their lips. Savoring the taste for a moment eyes closing and enjoying the tiny rush. Then licking more of the pop on the stick, wrapping their tongue to get as much or as little as they please. Something once so innocent in its cellophane wrappings now giving your tooth more then an ache.
How many licks does it take to get to the center? You suddenly want to know. Not only to know how long such a show could go, but the strength of those lips and tongue to continue on. Is there a point where they too start just tasting so sticky and sweet? Making you swear you can taste it on your own lips even as you watch. A shiver run through you when eyes meet and the tongue doesn’t stop its sweet swirling dance.
Something so pure, suddenly becoming so voyeuristic and naughty when its between the right lips. A tease that leaves you aching for more even when there is nothing but the stick left. As you think about sliding something between those now empty lips before the sweet and sticky taste is gone.
Really makes you think a lot differently about sugar being simple doesn’t it?
